Voddie Baucham was born on March 11, 1969, to African-American parents. He was born in a non-religious single-parent family in Los Angeles, California. He only discovered Christianity at the age of 18 and converted around the age of 18.
Voddie was a college football player and was a tight end on the football team at New Mexico State University. He eventually transferred from Rice University in Houston, Texas and the same.
But Baucham, after Baucham was converted to Christianity in 1987, the young man gave up his dream of becoming an elite football player and decided to enroll in Houston Baptist University.
